USING RENEWABLE SOURCES
SDG 13 is about climate action. It aims to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
I live in Malaysia, and I am worried about the future of our planet. I see the effects of climate change all around me, and I know that we need to do something to stop it. One way that we can help is by using renewable sources of energy.
Renewable sources of energy are energy sources that can be replaced over time. They do not produce greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change. Some examples of renewable sources of energy are solar power, wind power, and hydroelectric power.
Malaysia has a lot of potential for renewable energy. We have a lot of sunshine, which makes us ideal for solar power. We also have a lot of wind, which makes us ideal for wind power. And we have a lot of rivers, which makes us ideal for hydroelectric power.
The Malaysian government has taken some steps to promote renewable energy. They have set a target of generating 20% of our electricity from renewable sources by 2025. They have also offered subsidies to businesses and homeowners who install solar panels.
However, there are still some challenges to using renewable energy in Malaysia. One challenge is that the cost of renewable energy is still higher than the cost of fossil fuels. Another challenge is that our infrastructure is not yet ready to support a large-scale shift to renewable energy.
Despite these challenges, I believe that renewable energy is the future of Malaysia. It is a clean, sustainable source of energy that can help us reduce our carbon footprint. I hope that the Malaysian government will continue to invest in renewable energy, and that businesses and homeowners will take advantage of the subsidies that are available.
Here are some specific solutions that can be implemented to increase the use of renewable energy in Malaysia:
The government can continue to offer subsidies to businesses and homeowners who install solar panels.
The government can invest in research and development to make renewable energy more affordable and efficient.
The government can work with businesses to develop new ways to use renewable energy.
The government can educate the public about the benefits of renewable energy.
By implementing these solutions, we can make Malaysia a leader in the use of renewable energy. This will help us protect our environment and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.
